Processes of Human Diseases 1 An introduction to human disease that focuses on the fundamental principles of homeostatic mechanisms and how alterations in homeostatic mechanisms will disrupt the human body. Overall mechanisms of disease will be studied by systems and have been categorized into concepts. These concepts will be examined for the effect that they produce on the structure and function of the body. NURS 2533 | 42 hrs $437.22 loc date day time BA MAY 6 – JUNE 17 WED 9 – 3 P.M. Processes of Human Diseases 2 This course builds on processes of Human Disease I. Continued exploration of the concepts of pathology and the effect on the structure and functioning of the body will occur. Overall mechanisms of disease have been categorized into concepts and these concepts will be examined for the effect that they produce on each of the body systems. Common diseases will be used to illustrate each concept. NURS 2534 | 42 hrs $437.22 loc date day time BA JUNE 24 – AUG. 12 WED 9 – 3 P.M. Success Strategies This course focuses on building skills that students need to be successful in pre-health and college. These skills include building self knowledge, good relationships/connections, and making positive changes that promote academic and personal success. Students utilize learning materials and actively participate in activities that identify core strengths and areas that require further development. HLTH 1002 | 42 hrs $325.50 loc date day time SG JAN. 5 – APR. 17 TBD Theory and Practice of the OR This course will provide the RN and RPN with an understanding of the complexity of the operating room and the role of the nurse working in an operating room setting. Students will identify and discuss the nursing responsibilities and skills related to the care of the patient undergoing general or gynaecological surgery and practice related skills in a lab setting. RNRS 1059 | 60 hrs $717 loc date day time BA MAR. 3 – APR. 16 TUE – THU 5 – 9:30 P.M. LANGuAGES AND SPECIALIZED COMMuNICATIONS COuRSES French Conversational 1 This course is designed for students with little knowledge of French who want to function in school, work and social settings at a basic level. The emphasis is on speaking and understanding French; however students also acquire rudimentary writing and reading skills. Students become comfortable with the language through various class activities such as role playing, conversing in small groups, and making short oral presentations. LANG 1000 | 42 hrs $325.50 loc date day time BA JAN. 13 – APR. 14 TUE 6:30 – 9:30 P.M. BA MAY 5 – JULY 21 TUE 6 – 9:30 P.M. French Conversational 2 This course is designed for students who wish to further develop their speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills at an intermediate level. Through various class activities, students converse, role play and present orally in French. Further grammar and vocabulary development leads to improved oral, reading and writing skills. By the end of this course, students are able to function in school, work and social settings at the intermediate level. French Conversational 3 This course is designed for students who have acquired a basic ability in speaking and understanding French. Using intermediate grammar and vocabulary, students continue to improve oral, reading, and writing skills. Emphasis on conversational French continues. LANG 1006 | 42 hrs $325.50 loc date day time BA JAN. 14 – APR. 15 WED 6:30 – 9:30 P.M. French Conversational 4 This course expands on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills at the intermediate level. Through various activities, students converse, role play, and present orally in French, furthering grammar and vocabulary skills. Emphasis on conversational French continues. LANG 1007 | 42 hrs $325.50 loc date day time BA MAY 6 – JULY 22 WED 6 – 9:30 P.M French Conversational 5 This course is designed for students who have attained an intermediate level of conversational French. The emphasis is on improving speaking and listening skills. Students develop advanced grammar and vocabulary skills to increase proficiency with all aspects of the language.
