Students will select and research a specific curriculum model which reflects their philosophical interests and teaching style. Following this, students will develop a proposal to implement a project based on their chosen model to meet a need for families within the community. OL Supervision and Administration This course is designed to give students an understanding of the administrative procedures and the supervisory functions required to operate a child care program. Students will develop skills to meet the individual needs within this age group. The importance of play and building relationships through responsive interactions will be emphasized. Students will apply knowledge of planning tools and relevant legislation to prepare developmentally appropriate programs to support learning both indoors and outdoors. OL Environmental Geology The main objective of this course is to provide hands-on practice. You will examine the exciting and dramatic interactions between geology and the surrounding environment. You will consider geologic events—such as volcanoes, tsunamis, earthquakes, landslides and avalanches—with a particular approach to their impact on humans and other life. In addition, you will analyze human responses to these hazards and disasters with a perspective towards the future. Furthermore, you will study the relationships between human activity and geology and the impact of one upon the other.
