Styles include a knit fabric with long sleeves (top only), variations of the raglan sleeve and adding the base dart for added shaping. Pattern Drafting: Blouses/Tops Building on skills learned in drafting tops and dresses, and continuing with the European method, participants learn to adjust patterns for tops and dresses for different body types. Collars, buttons and buttonholes are introduced to the patterns. A button- down shirt with wing collar and princess lines pattern is drafted as well as an asymmetrical top and a man's shirt. Pattern Drafting: Dresses Building on skills learned in Pattern Drafting: Blouses, Tops and Shirts, participants create dress patterns including a strapless dress and an empire cut dress. The custom fit of a dress is studied and adjusting pattern pieces to perfect the fit is learned. This course is sixth in a series of pattern drafting courses. Pattern Drafting: Pants Building on the skills learned in Pattern Drafting: Skirts, participants learn how to draft patterns for pants from waistline to hemline including pockets and front fly zippers. Patterns created will include custom fit pants as well as custom fit jeans. This course is second in a series of pattern drafting courses. Pattern Drafting Skirts Using a European method, participants learn how to use the tools of the trade to draft straight lines, angles and curves which will be applied to drafting skirt patterns. Starting from pencil skirts and going to A-line, wrap, gored, circle and volant, and asymmetrical, participants create patterns and muslins in personal sizes. The focus is on Ohm's law, Kirchoff's law, magnetism, induction, transformers, energy generation, DC and AC current. Calculations of variables in series and parallel circuits are also discussed. Carpentry Exam Preparation This course is specifically designed for those people who work in the field of Carpentry to assist with obtaining a Certificate of Qualification for Carpentry. ENVIRONMENTAL, TRADES AND TEChNOLOGY COuRSES Printmaking Summer Studio This course is designed for students interested in a purely general interest noncredit course in printmaking. It is open to the novice as well as experienced printmaker. The instructor teaches basic techniques as well as advises more experienced students about ongoing work.
