It will develop in the participants, both the understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses and the skills for team building and facilitating your group. Particular attention will be paid to the questions of when to use a team, how to manage meetings and how to conduct group problem-solving sessions. Electro-Hydraulic Applications This course outlines the principles of basic electrical control theory component selection and circuit logic for the control of hydraulic systems. Exterior Inspection This home inspection course covers retaining walls, grounds, window wells, lot grading, driveways, patios, walkways, decks, balconies, stoops and steps, porches, railings, wall cladding, flashing, trim, eaves, soffits, fascia, as well as exterior doors and windows. Students learn to describe the exterior wall covering and inspect all aspects of the exterior named above. Some self- study is required. Forklift Operator This theoretical and practical course meets the training requirements outlined in CA/CSA 335-04 Safety Standard for Lift Trucks. General Legal Process – 2012 This class is designed to provide a working knowledge of the legal processes under the building code act. This course is for chief building officials, building inspectors, designers and any other persons responsible for the design and review construction, demolition, maintenance and safety of buildings. You must bring a copy of the Ontario Building Code 2012 and the General Legal Process 2012 manual to the first class. Handywoman 101 A useful course for the homeowner who wishes to do her own basic maintenance around the residence. Topics such as basic house wiring, plumbing repairs, carpentry repairs, basic drywall and decorating will be briefly discussed in-class and then reinforced with shop exercises.
