Students are taught the steps of the accounting cycle that result in useful information for decision-makers. Students will explore the strategic framework of transporting goods across international boundaries, research on the evolving concepts of the international supply chain network and calculate the risks involved with global operations, specifically towards the transportation and distribution industry. The course involves research into shipping goods to an international destination and mapping out performance measures towards the best method for the shipment of these goods. It covers the historical development of human resources management, the influence of government, staffing, employee relations, current trends and future issues. It provides a brief introduction to more specialized areas including compensation training and development, employment law, industrial relations, occupational health and safety and human resources planning. Students will be introduced to effective strategies for hiring, motivating, managing, training, and retaining staff. Students learn how to forecast the human resources needs of an organization and to relate the requirements of the organization within ambient socio-political situations. Considerable emphasis will be placed on negotiating and administering the collective agreement through to grievance arbitration. HRMN 1028 | 42 hrs $749.04 date loc JAN. 13 – APR. 21 ONLINE MAY 12 – AUG. 18 ONLINE Intermediate Accounting 1 This course is designed to provide the student with an in-depth exposure to the Canadian accounting environment and all elements of the theoretical framework that comprises Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
