19 75 19 77 19 76 Valerie says her favourite college memories revolve around meeting classmates who have turned into lifelong friends. Her studies have also stood her in good stead – the knowledge she gained at Georgian has translated into success in various vocations, including in her current occupation as an Anglican priest. Ted says that his Georgian studies informed the vision he had as (now retired) President and CEO of the Electrical Utilities Safety Association of Ontario of zero injuries to the 50,000 workers in the industry. The sector outperformed all other industries province-wide for injury prevention by two- fold between 2001 and 2011. "After 40 years of working at the college, convocation is still a highlight," says Nancy. "Many students wouldn't cross the stage without the support they receive at Georgian. I'm inspired by their persistence and resilience in overcoming incredible obstacles to reach their goals. We change lives with our work."
