Welcome back
Second semester is a great opportunity for you
to increase your involvement on campus and
explore new activities. Many programs at
Georgian offer January starts so there will be
new students on campus that may require
support as well. Become a guide to assist others
with their transition or volunteer to be involved
in Orientation orientation@georgiancollege.ca.
Your second semester is a great time to
experience all that Georgian has to offer!
Georgian College Students' Association (GCSA)
elections begin in January. Be a part of this
great learning and leadership opportunity on
campus.
Want to give back? Consider becoming a Peer
Mentor to help the new January intake students.

Developing an awareness of what services are
available and who to speak to in times of challenge
can be key in making a smooth transition to college
Academic Coach/Student Success Ofcer
life. Students who seek support early and often typically adapt easier
than those who only seek support in times of crisis. Generally this is
because staff at the college are able to help you deal with difcult
situations before they become overwhelming and therefore
detrimental to your studies and your own well-being. The college has a
huge network of support services available, and even if you don't feel
comfortable enough to discuss your concerns or barriers in detail when
you rst come to the college, I encourage you to come and at least
learn what supports are available and even just come and say hi. Just
having early contact with someone who can help may make a big
difference, and after all, we are here for you!
