Management Essentials – Innovate and Elevate: A Guide to Critical and Strategic Thinking In this module, students take a deep dive into critical thinking and strategic thinking skills that equip them with techniques such as problem-solving methods and creative approaches that can be used to improve everyday work. Students learn how using critical thinking and strategic thinking skills can lead to innovation, and learn how to communicate with greater clarity and leverage the transformative impact of asking the right questions. Whether a seasoned leader or new to a leadership role, this module helps the learner enhance decision-making and communication skills, paving the way for success in their professional journey. Students also have the opportunity to explore techniques and strategies to amplify their critical thinking skills with generative AI. BUSN 0264 l 6 HRS Get Inspired with Social Media (Micro-credential) In this module, students learn strategies, methods, and techniques to effectively use social media in marketing and advertising for a business. They will gain an understanding about the advantages and disadvantages of current social media platforms and discover how to manage the social media community and brand platforms effectively, as well as measure and evaluate social media results. Students explore how digital and artificial intelligence tools can be used for creating content. This module is part of the Management Essentials Micro-certificate. BUSN 0262 l 6 HRS Unleash Your Creative Potential (Micro-credential) In this module, students learn to tap into their innate creativity. They gain insights into identifying and dismantling roadblocks that hinder creative expression and cultivate a mindset primed for innovative problem-solving. Students explore effective strategies to overcome self-doubt, spark idea generation, and establish a robust foundation for continuous creative output. From crafting an inspiration arc to unleashing that creative spark, they discover practical techniques to summon inspiration when it matters most. Students also delve into the ethical considerations surrounding the integration of artificial intelligence tools in the creative thinking process, broadening their perspective on the evolving landscape of creativity. Project Management − Module 1: Project Initiation and Charter Learn the fundamentals of projects in organizations, project selection methods, and how to start a project correctly. Identify stakeholders and determine their interests, impacts and expectations. Get practical experience defining the needs for projects and develop a functional project charter at the right level of detail for your situation. BUSN 0206 9 HRS Project Management − Module 2: Project Planning Develop functional project planning skills through creating a full project plan. Explore scope definition, work breakdown, resource estimation, critical path definition, scheduling, budgeting, proactive risk planning, and integration of the entire project plan through demonstration and practice using Microsoft Project and other planning tools. BUSN 0205 | 45 HRS Project Management − Module 3: Project Execution and Control Learn to implement and control project performance to achieve project success efficiently and effectively. Apply practical techniques to track and manage project performance, including change control, MS Project tracking, project recovery techniques, Earned Value Management, quality management, procurement management and contract management.
