Students can expect to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for an entry-level position in a variety of business setting. GeorgianCollege.ca/PTBSTU No application required Certificate Career opportunities include management trainee, personnel officer and HR generalist, among others. Employers include banks, finance, trust and insurance companies, computer firms, government ministries and agencies. 5 program courses. Business Studies – Accounting BSTA n This program is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of accounting functions. Students can expect to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for an entry-level position in a variety of business settings including small business ownership. Completing the six courses of this certificate provides students with a pathway to a Georgian College Business – Accounting diploma. GeorgianCollege.ca/PTBSTA No application required Certificate Graduates may work in a broad range of employment settings in all sectors of business and industry, including banks, small business, manufacturing firms, non-profit organizations, and self-employment. 4 program courses, and 2 program option courses. Communication Studies COMS This certificate is available to all students who want to improve their effectiveness as writers in business, government or industry. Clear communication with external and internal audiences contributes to the success of small and large organizations, non-profit agencies and government institutions. Courses will emphasize critical, analytical and strategic communications skills needed to be successful. Certificate completion requires six courses, two mandatory and four optional. GeorgianCollege.ca/PTCOMS No application required Certificate 2 program courses (determined by CPA testing), and 4 program option courses. Human Resource Studies HRST n This program is designed to prepare students to enter the human resource management profession. The program also serves practitioners as professional development for additional responsibilities in their workplace. The nine approved courses leading to the Human Resources Professionals Association designation known as the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) are all mandatory courses for the certificate.
