As a leader, a large part of your responsibility is anticipating issues and implementing directives and standard operating practices. Students will learn tools and management techniques to manage workload and resources, assess situations and manage risk within a team environment. This course is Transport Canada approved as per TP 15337E and meets the requirements of the STCW2010 amendment. Students must have a Certificate of Competency at least at the Officer Level (Nautical, Engineering or Electro- Tech) and at least six months of sea service after acquiring a Certificate of Competency at the Officer Level. Course code: MARI 0213 Course length: five days (35 hours) Course fee: $1,325 VESSEL PERSONNEL WITH SECURITY RESPONSIBILITY This course is intended to provide the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan to perform their duties in accordance with the Marine Transportation Security Act (MTSA), the Marine Transportation Security Regulations (MTSR), the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and the IMO model course as appropriate to the submission: (3.19, 3.26, 2.27). The aim of this course is to fully explain to vessel personnel their potential responsibilities on board their vessels. Those successfully completing the course will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge to undertake the duties under the Vessel Security Plan.
