Students examine the importance of a diverse workforce in order to build a successful organization. This module is one of eight that make up the Management Essentials micro-certificate. BUSN 0230 | 6 HRS | ONLINE $240 APPLIED PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (MODULES 1 TO 6) Project Management − Module 1: Project Initiation and Charter Learn the fundamentals of projects in organizations, project selection methods, and how to start a project correctly. Identify stakeholders and determine their interests, impacts and expectations. Get practical experience defining the needs for projects and develop a functional project charter at the right level of detail for your situation. BUSN 0206 | 9 HRS | ONLINE $426 Project Management − Module 2: Project Planning Develop functional project planning skills through creating a full project plan. Explore scope definition, work breakdown, resource estimation, critical path definition, scheduling budgeting, proactive risk planning, and integration of the entire project plan through demonstration and practice using Microsoft Project and other planning tools. BUSN 0205 | 45 HRS | ONLINE $2,115 Project Management − Module 3: Project Execution and Control Learn to implement and control project performance to achieve project success efficiently and effectively. Apply practical techniques to track and manage project performance, including change control, MS Project tracking, project recovery techniques, Earned Value Management, quality management, procurement management and contract management. BUSN 0204 | 27 HRS | ONLINE $1,272 Project Management − Module 4: Project Leadership Develop essential leadership, team development, negotiating, problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills to manage project teams. Explore fundamental concepts of influence, motivation, interests, team dynamics and communication associated with project management. BUSN 0203 | 18 HRS | ONLINE $841 Project Management − Module 5: Project Closing Learn to continuously improve project management, achieve successful project sign-off and how to implement a project management office. Use project closing tools and techniques to learn lessons, complete administrative and financial closure, and gain final acceptance from sponsors. BUSN 0201 | 9 HRS | ONLINE $426 Project Management − Module 6: Applied Project Management Integration and Evaluation Apply the various concepts, skills, and experiences from all of the previous courses to a comprehensive, integrated project. This is the final course in the program and includes the final exam. BUSN 0202 | 8 HRS | ONLINE $960 TEACHING AND TRAINING ADULTS PROGRAM (#1 TO #6 MANDATORY) Teaching and Training Adults − #1 Teaching/Training Adults This module is an introduction to teaching and training adult learners. Participants explore the principles of adult learning and their practical application in the creation and management of effective learning environments. This module is a prerequisite for subsequent offerings and must be taken first in the program. TATA 0023 | 12 HRS | ONLINE $275 Teaching and Training Adults − #2 Engaging Adult Learners This module will examine the instructor's role in learner engagement and motivation. Factors affecting learner motivation will be identified and instructional strategies to enhance learner engagement and motivation will be discussed and demonstrated. TATA 0024 | 6 HRS | ONLINE $225 Teaching and Training Adults − #3 Preparing a Lesson Learners will plan an adult learning session using a lesson plan template. This lesson plan will be constructed to reflect adult learning principles and include learning activities and assessment(s) aligned to distinct learning outcomes. The template can be applied to Module 6, the Micro Teaching Clinic. TATA 0025 | 6 HRS | ONLINE $225 Teaching and Training Adults − #4 Teaching and Training Methods This module identifies the importance of selecting teaching and training methods that relate to learning outcomes, content and assessment. Varying teaching and training methods will facilitate the needs of diverse learners and provide appropriate learning opportunities for adult learning. Learners in this course will identify and apply several different teaching and training methods for use in the classroom and workplace. TATA 0026 | 6 HRS | ONLINE $225 Teaching and Training Adults − #5 Assessing Learning This module will reinforce the importance of aligning learner assessment with learning outcomes. Learners will apply assessment concepts and strategies suitable for different styles of learning. Assessment methods will measure achievement of the Teaching and Training Adults program learning outcomes. TATA 0027 | 6 HRS | ONLINE $225 Teaching and Training Adults − #6 Micro Teaching Clinic In a collegial environment, learners will apply their learning from previous courses by teaching a short lesson to their peers. Participants will also: submit a lesson plan, provide feedback to each other about the teaching and learning process, act as facilitators and assistants, and engage in self-reflection for continuous growth. TATA 0028 | 6 HR | ONLINE $225 TEACHING AND TRAINING ADULTS (ELECTIVES) Teaching and Training Adults − Coaching This module examines the principles and techniques of coaching and their application in the workplace and the classroom.
