The REDress Project, an art installation that raises awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women, visited the Orillia Campus last year with Winnipeg-based Métis artist Jaimie Black, its creator. INDIGENOUS STUDIES GeorgianCollege.ca/ICSD CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Students are prepared for entry-level administration and support staff positions within organizations such as: • community health centres • school boards • social service organizations • healing lodges • mental health centres FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS Graduates of ICSD may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation agreements: Algoma University (ON), Davenport University (US), Laurier Brantford (ON), University of New Brunswick Saint John (NB), and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (ON). INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CO-OP ICSD In this program, students focus on the planning, evaluation and administration of social/ health-care services within Indigenous communities. Students study business and community development with an emphasis on integrating cultural, social and health issues relevant to Indigenous peoples in Canada. Cultural teachings and smudging are integrated daily throughout each academic semester in social activities, individual program courses and Traditional Teacher/Elder visits. (Please note: Indigenous includes First Nations, Métis, Inuit and Non-status People.)
