Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies in higher education at either the college or university level. Students are encouraged to meet with the program co-ordinator regarding course selection and optional credits, depending on individual goals. Career opportunities • While most students choose General Arts and Science as a pathway to further studies, some graduates find employment in occupations requiring a general education, or with firms that prefer to administer their own training programs. • The diploma from this program is recognized by several Ontario universities. • Effort is made to provide courses that give students optimum transfer credits to other college and university programs. Future study options: Graduates of GAAS may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Acadia University (NS), Bishop's University (QC), Central Michigan University (US), Davenport University (US), Griffith University (Australia), Lakehead University (ON), University of Guelph-Humber (ON), University of New Bruswick Saint John (NB), and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (ON). Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies at either the college or university level. Students can also choose to continue from the one-year certificate to the two-year diploma in General Arts and Science. Career opportunities While most students choose General Arts and Science as a pathway to further studies, some graduates of the program find employment in occupations requiring a general education or with firms that prefer to administer their own training programs.
