The program In this program, you'll be introduced to the various functional aspects of business in general and accounting in particular. As a graduate, you'll apply computer, communication and mathematical skills as well as management accounting techniques to support accounting activities, including the maintenance of accounting records and the preparation of financial statements and individual tax returns. This program is recognized by the Certified General Accountants Association (CGA). Graduate career opportunities Management trainee, corporate accountant, financial analyst, tax preparation; work may also be found in a broad range of employment settings in all sectors of business and industry. Admission requirements OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) • Any Grade 11* or 12 mathematics (C, M or U) *Minimum of 60% in Grade 11 college or university level mathematics (MBF3C or MCF3M) Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older) and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED and equivalency testing. Refer to the Credit Transfer Centre website for details: GeorgianCollege.ca/admissions/credit-transfer/ Graduation requirements Students are required to complete 2 communications courses • 19 mandatory courses • 3 general education courses to be chosen from the college list • 2 co-op work terms (BACT only) Future study options Graduates of the BACT program may be granted credit toward degree studies at other institutions including Athabasca University, Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), Davenport University (U.S.A.), Institutes of Technology Ireland (U.K.), Laurier Brantford, Royal Roads University, University of Lethbridge, University of New Brunswick, Saint John, University of Ontario Institute of Technology and University of Windsor. In addition, graduates of the BACN program may be granted credit toward degree studies at Griffith University (Australia) and the University of New Brunswick, St. John.
