The program For students interested in managing people or processes, Georgian's two-year Business programs provide a solid foundation in the basics of business. Studies in economics, accounting, marketing and human resources lay the foundation for a good start. Individual courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to get to work. The program can launch a career or can be a springboard into further studies. Graduate career opportunities Management trainee, division/general manager, sales manager, personnel officer/ manager in banks, finance, trust and insurance companies, computer firms, government ministries, wholesalers, retailers, non-profit agencies and entrepreneurial opportunities Admission requirements OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) • Any Grade 11* or 12 mathematics (C, M or U) *Minimum of 60% in Grade 11 college or university level mathematics (MBF3C or MCF3M) Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older) and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED and equivalency testing. Refer to the Credit Transfer Centre website for details: GeorgianCollege.ca/admissions/credit-transfer/ Graduation requirements Students are required to complete 2 communications courses • 17 mandatory courses • 2 optional courses • 3 general education courses to be chosen from the college list • 2 co-op work terms (BUSG only) Future study options Graduates of BUSG may be granted credit toward degree studies at other institutions including Athabasca University, Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), Institutes of Technology Ireland (U.K.), Laurentian University, Laurier Brantford, Royal Roads University, University of Lethbridge, University of New Brunswick, University of Ontario Institute of Technology and University of Windsor. Graduates of BUSN may be granted credit towards degree studies at Davenport University, Griffith University (Australia) and University of New Brunswick.
