The program As a student in this program, you'll refine your jewellery and metalworking skills, develop your design abilities and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to design, produce and market jewellery, flatware and hollowware. Within your area of specialization (either goldsmithing or silversmithing), you'll choose a number of advanced techniques on which to concentrate and you'll develop the in-depth knowledge and skill that will allow you to work independently or as a designer. Graduate career opportunities • Jewellery and fine metal manufacturing • Jewellery retailing • Custom studios • Goldsmith, silversmith, metalsmith, designer, jewellery and metals technologist • Self-employed jewellery and/or metal designer, craftsperson or teacher Admission requirements • College diploma or equivalent with a specialty in jewellery and metals • Applicants lacking a postsecondary diploma, degree, or equivalent may be considered based on proven related experience in the chosen field Selection process Qualified applicants will be considered on an individual basis, based on the admission requirements, quality of the portfolio work and space availability. Only a limited number of applicants will be accepted into this post-graduate program. Graduation requirements Students are required to complete 4 mandatory courses • 2 optional courses Future study options Graduates of this program may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institution: Griffith University (Australia).
