The teaching staff at Georgian knew me as a person,
not just a number. They were always available to
handle any questions – or to have a cup of tea. The
classes modelled my current work environment and
gave me the tools to work collaboratively within an
interdisciplinary team.
After graduation, I worked at Sick Kids, caring for
critically ill newborn babies in a family-centred care
environment. Thanks to my program, I had the
clinical skills to work in a fast-paced critical care
unit and was able to handle the emotions faced by
patient families.
I'm excited to be transitioning to a position at
Simcoe Muskoka CCAC near my hometown. I'll
be assessing hospitalized patients of all ages for
eligibility for home care services.
