Building on previous design education and experience, you enhance your design skills with leading-edge technology following industry guidelines. Applying knowledge of how to assess client needs, you focus on function-based and aesthetically pleasing design solutions, environmental considerations, and durability to create spaces that promote health, safety, and wellbeing through accessibility. You refine your design knowledge of industry specific materials, product specifications, fabrication methods, infrastructure issues, and business practices, while developing the skills necessary to create accurate and appealing technical and presentation drawings. Students deepen their critical thinking and analytical skills while widening their worldview. The program opens doors and builds pathways to further studies at either the college or university level. Upon completing the two-year diploma, students are eligible for university articulation agreements that offer excellent credit transfer.
