Alumni out and about
Georgian alumni aren't just involved in mentoring, changemaking and making a difference in their communities,
they also get together and have fun through events put on by the Alumni Association and Georgian.
Here are just a few of the exciting happenings that took place so far in 2024.
1. Dave Shorey, Executive Director, Owen Sound Campus and Kevin Weaver, President and CEO, Georgian, joined Growler and over 70 alumni and Georgian-
connected guests to cheer on their favourite team when the Owen Sound Attack played against the London Knights during the first Georgian Night in Owen
Sound on Feb. 17.
2. Alumni were in for a fun night of hockey on March 7 when they cheered on the Colts who played against the Mississauga Steelheads at the annual Georgian Night
at the Barrie Colts game. Pictured here, Board of Governors Chair Mary-Anne Willsey and President and CEO Kevin Weaver oversee the puck drop.
3. A number of alumni joined Team Georgian for a Wheels for Wellness charity event, hosted by the Rotary Club of Barrie at Southshore Community Centre in
Barrie on March 9.
4. Amanda Brown (visiting Jingle Dress Dancer); Sharon Rigby (class of 2020 and 2021), Women's Traditional Dancer; Quo vadis Rigby; and Juanita Macleod (class of
2023), Jingle Dress Dancer, participated in Georgian's 16th Annual Pow Wow on March 9.
5. Addison Wallwin (class of 2015 and 2019), Co-chair of Georgian's Golf Classic committee, presents a cheque to Kevin Weaver, President and CEO at the end of
the Golf Classic.
