With well-defined profiles, the knowledge gained through research and analysis and implementation of sound sales prospecting plans will keep the sales pipeline full of prospective customers and potential business. This micro-credential will introduce you to the various tools, technologies, techniques and requirements to successfully carry out aspects of this phase of the B2C sales process. BUSN 0243 | 12 HRS l Fee: $239 Negotiation, Closing and Follow Up The ability to understand how successful negotiation and closing of a sale lead to customer satisfaction are crucial to the overall success of a business. It's important to explore strategies and techniques for sales negotiations, closing a sale and post-purchase follow ups to analyze customer insights, and assess opportunities for improvement on product or service offerings. This course will explore techniques to increase customer satisfaction, customer retention and referrals through a variety of interactive and engaging activities including role plays, videos and case studies. BUSN 0252 | 12 HRS l Fee: $239 ESTABLISHING A CONTRACTING SMALL BUSINESS IN ONTARIO MICRO-CREDENTIAL GeorgianCollege.ca/PTSBMC Business Planning for Contractors This course provides participants with hands-on experience in applying the business planning skills necessary to start a successful small construction business. This module is part of the Establishing a Contracting Small Business in Ontario micro-certificate. BUSN 0245 | 12 HRS l Fee: $239 Construction Contracting Law and Procedures This course examines the legal framework under which companies and individuals contract to supply labour and materials to job sites. Participants will be trained in dispute resolution alternatives to avoid the litigation process and learn about the rights and obligations of those in the construction pyramid. They'll also learn about organizational strategies to manage risk in meeting critical timelines. This module is part of the Establishing a Contracting Small Business in Ontario micro-certificate. BUSN 0244 | 12 HRS l Fee: $239 Safety, Labour and Licensing Regulatory Requirements This course examines building construction business operations as required by the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Participants will learn how to plan for permits and inspections, and keep records in compliance with government regulations with significant focus on health and safety regulations. They'll also learn how to maintain employment records for employees to comply with CRA requirements for employment reporting periods. BUSN 0246 | 12 HRS l Fee: $239 Operating a Contracting Small Business This course explores the foundational skills and knowledge to successfully operate a contracting small business. Learn about the importance of budgeting time and money and how to manage job sites, small teams and project plans, all while adhering to industry standards. This module is part of the Establishing a Contracting Small Business in Ontario micro-certificate. BUSN 0247 | 12 HRS l Fee: $246.15 OTHER BUSINESSES AND MANAGEMENT COURSES GeorgianCollege.ca/PTBUSINESSMGMT Virtual Reality Educator Students in this course learn about virtual reality (VR) and how to use it in their teaching practice. Sometimes described as immersive virtual reality (iVR), VR is an experiential learning medium where students can practice processes/complete tasks or experience what it's like to "walk a mile in someone else's shoes". Consequently, students explore the use of VR in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains, and, as educators, develop an understanding of its pedagogical potential. Students are required to have a VR headset to take this course.
