Unrivaled talent Chukwuma Okeke, a student in Georgian's Civil Engineering Technology program and a member of the men's varsity volleyball team, was recently recognized for his excellence in athletics. He won four awards: CCAA All Canadian, OCAA Scoring Champion, OCAA Men's Volleyball East Division Player of the Year, and an East Division First-Team All-Star. The formidable 6' 3" varsity player capped off the season being named All-Canadian by the CCAA. "Whatever you find yourself doing, do your best because you don't know what's going to pay off in the future. If I didn't play volleyball, I might not have met someone who helped me to go to Dubai and then Canada. If I didn't play volleyball, I wouldn't be on the Georgian College varsity team. If I wasn't on the team, I wouldn't get these awards," says Chukwuma. Chukwuma dominated the court. In the final match alone, Chukwuma led the Grizzlies with 10 kills, one ace and two blocks. "It's not my first time playing at a high level, but for sure it was the first time to be on a team that actually cares about the players. It's a whole different vibe here in Canada because everyone loves the game, but they also look out for each other.
