FEES & FINANCIAL AID Your education is one of the most important investments you'll make. Take a closer look at the various funding opportunities available to you. LakeheadGeorgian.ca/financialaid LAKEHEAD ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP • High school applicants (Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person) • Automatically considered FINAL ADMISSION AVERAGE SCHOLARSHIP 95.0% or above Free tuition 1 90.0% - 94.9% $10,000 ($2,500 x 4 years) 85.0% - 89.9% $5,000 ($1,250 x 4 years) 80.0% - 84.9% $3,000 ($750 x 4 years) 1 Free tuition scholarship based on final top six grade 12 U/M marks. If final scholarship average decreases below 95%, a $4,000 renewable offer will be provided. See 2 for $4000 renewal criteria. 2 Free tuition and $4,000 scholarship renewable provided a 90% average is achieved in each academic year. If a student's university academic average falls between 80.0% - 89.9%, the student will receive an amended scholarship value at $2,500/ year for each subsequent academic year for the remaining term of the scholarship. OSAP With a single application, you could be eligible for support through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Find out more and apply online: ontario.ca/OSAP INTERNATIONAL VISIONARY AWARD Non-Canadian citizens who are entering Lakehead- Georgian from high school, or who are transferring from an international college or university, are eligible for the $4,000 International Visionary Award. Students will also be considered for Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships (based on academic merit). BURSARIES Lakehead University's entrance bursary program provides over $300,000 annually for students who demonstrate financial need. Unlike loans, bursaries don't need to be repaid. • Transfer/Mature Student Bursary Available to students transferring from a college or university, or mature students with no previous postsecondary education. Value: up to $1,000 • Entrance/Travel Bursary Available to students entering directly from high school. Travelling more than 700 kilometres to Lakehead-Georgian? You could also be considered for the travel bursary. Value: up to $2,300 YOUR STUDENT BUDGET How much will it cost? These costs represent an approximate eight-month budget (based on 2019-2020 costs) for domestic students. Your costs may increase or decrease based on your personal lifestyle. Your costs will increase if you're an international student.
