The stigma associated with mental health may result in lack of treatment/support and consequences that are far reaching, even to the family back home. Counselling international students necessitates a different approach than the domestic population and, for these students, accessing services can be a barrier. Our session will provide a better understanding of the mental health issues presented in our counselling unit, offer the tools needed to identify international student mental health issues and provide strategies for support and referral to the proper resources.
