5 MARINE FIRST AID CONTACT US – 1.866.468.3225 CMTR@georgiancollege.ca MARINE FIRST AID MARINE BASIC FIRST AID AND CPR This is a Transport Canada-approved first aid and CPR course for individuals who need basic training in first aid and CPR for the marine industry. The course develops skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies, CPR Level A, AED (Automated External Defibrillation) and other topics including choking, airway and breathing emergencies and prevention of disease transmission. Marine Basic First Aid certificates are vaild for five years. Course code: MARI 0121 Course length: two days (16 hours) Course fee: $265 MARINE ADVANCED FIRST AID AND CPR This Transport Canada-approved course provides comprehensive first aid and CPR training for individuals who need training in first aid and CPR for the marine industry. The course covers a variety of topics from basic first aid such as cardiovascular emergencies, CPR Level A, AED (Automated External Defibrillation) to choking, airway and breathing emergencies, prevention of disease transmission, toxicological hazards aboard ship, medical care of rescued persons and pharmacology. Marine Advanced First Aid certificates are valid for five years. Marine Advanced First Aid is required by: • any person who wants to obtain a Master's or Officer's certificate or endorsement • any person designated to provide first aid on board a vessel engaged on a near coastal voyage, Class 1 or unlimited voyage Course code: MARI 0099 Course length: four days (31 hours) Course fee: $640
