TECH 0450 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Communication and Professional Practice The professional home inspector is required, both verbally and in writing, to describe the inspection process and communicate inspection findings to the client. It is imperative that the home inspector be able to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding of an inspection, once conducted. Students in this subject develop their oral and written communication skills, and learn the reporting requirements and proper conduct required of a professional in this industry. TECH 0451 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Electrical Inspection This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to inspect residential electrical systems in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the home inspection profession. TECH 0452 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Exterior Inspection This home inspection course covers retaining walls, ground window wells, lot grading, driveways, patios, walkways, decks, balconies, stoops and steps, porches, railings, wall cladding, flashing trim, eaves, soffits, fascia, as well as exterior doors and windows. Students learn to describe the exterior wall covering and inspect all aspects of the exterior named above. TECH 0453 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Heating Inspection 1 This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to inspect residential heating systems in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the home inspection profession. Topics include gas and oil furnaces and hot water boilers. TECH 0454 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Heating Inspection 2 This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to inspect residential heating systems in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the home inspection profession. Topics include chimneys, wood, steam and electric heating systems, wall and floor furnaces, space heaters and gas fireplaces. TECH 0455 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Interior/Insulation Inspection This home inspection course focuses on the inspection of thermal insulation, vapour retarders and ventilation systems, as well as the inspection of interior elements of residential dwellings such as walls, ceilings, floors, basements, doors, windows, interior stairs/ railings, installed countertops and cabinets, and garage doors/door operators. TECH 0456 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Plumbing Inspection This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to inspect residential plumbing systems in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the home inspection profession. TECH 0457 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Roofing Inspection This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to inspect residential roofing systems in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the home inspection profession. TECH 0458 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 Home Inspection − Structure Inspection This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to inspect residential structures in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the home inspection profession. TECH 0459 | 42 HRS | ONLINE $423.02 MANUFACTURING LEADERSHIP PROGRAM Coaching and Developing People This course introduces the fundamental principles of coaching and developing people in order to encourage their ongoing learning process in the workplace. Communication skills, including delegation, motivation, conflict resolution and empowerment, will be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to practise these skills and others through online discussions and work-related projects. TECH 0526 | 30 HRS | ONLINE $505 Continuous Improvement Processes This course offers supervisors an opportunity to become familiar with the concepts, terms and methods used by today's industry to pursue continuous improvement. ISO 9000 receives particular attention. A continuous improvement project relevant to their actual work environment will allow participants a meaningful opportunity to combine theory and practice. Participants learn how various team structures can help organizations make the most of their human resources. The successful supervisor needs a wide range of specialized skills, including time management, effective communication, customer relations, and how to measure work appropriately and ensure compliance with complex government legislation. This course helps you develop these skills and an awareness of the multi-faceted approach to leadership demanded in the modern business environment. Topics include the supervisor as a member of the management team, establishing and maintaining rapport with your employees and workplace legislation. What information about the changes that impact us all will help the supervisor deal with the issues and questions that arise daily in the workplace?
