Get credit for prior
learning experience (PLAR)
If you are planning to study in a program where you have relevant
work or life experience in that field, you may be eligible to receive credit
through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). Part of the
learning assessment may include:
• proof of external certificates
• portfolio submissions
• completing challenge exams
• past coursework
• resumes
Note: You can receive credit for up to 75 per cent of a certificate or
diploma through PLAR depending on the relevancy and extent of your
work experience. For degree programs, a maximum of 50 per cent can
be obtained through PLAR.
