With support from the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Social Service Worker student Che Cleland created a social enterprise called ZombieFest for Youth! More than 100 people registered for the inaugural zombie walk and concert to raise funds for a new youth shelter. Become a self-starter At Georgian, we believe entrepreneurship has the power to create economic and social change. We have worked hard to establish entrepreneurship as a signature learning experience throughout the college. Entrepreneurship is everywhere at Georgian – from our classrooms where students acquire a strong and diverse set of entrepreneurial skills, to our student-run businesses and clubs where an entrepreneurial spark has a place to catch and grow. LAUNCH A BUSINESS HENRY BERNICK ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTRE New and seasoned entrepreneurs access training, networks, funding and mentors to help establish or grow their businesses. LEAD SOCIAL CHANGE CENTRE FOR SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP Students and community partners work hand-in-hand to effect social change in our community through innovative projects and research. SOLVE TECHNICAL CHALLENGES CENTRE FOR APPLIED RESEARCH AND INNOVATION Georgian students and faculty help businesses solve technical challenges through research, prototyping, product testing and more. International Business Management student Brandon Pitawanakwat recently won $2,500 through the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre's exC!te pitch competition. The funds will help Brandon launch Crowned Eagle, a restaurant featuring fine Indigenous cuisine. Entrepreneurship is everywhere at Georgian. Check out our video.
