ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates may find work in the private sector assisting: • quantity surveyors (estimators) • purchasers • site supervisors • project managers • drafters • detailers They may also find employment as assistants in: • engineering or construction offices • the public sector in government agencies or as site inspectors FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS Graduates of CVTN may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Davenport University (US) and University of New Brunswick (NB). GeorgianCollege.ca/CVTN CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN – CONSTRUCTION CO-OP CVTN Graduates are prepared to work with engineers and construction project managers as part of a team constructing roads, bridges, sewers, water mains and other infrastructure. Technicians develop information for cost estimation, perform materials testing and assist in the administration of projects in the field. Teamwork and project-based learning are emphasized. This program is common with the first four semesters of the Civil Engineering Technology program, and graduates may choose to continue into the third year of that program. Teamwork and project- based learning is emphasized. This program is common with the first four semesters of the Architectural Technology program and graduates may choose to continue into the third year of that program.
