The annual Design and Visual Arts Scholarship Show allows students from all creative programs to display their work, earn funds and gain recognition. DESIGN AND VISUAL ARTS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates are prepared with the skills needed to produce and repair: • jewellery • flatware • hollowware Graduates may find employment in: • jewellery manufacturing • jewellery retailing • custom studios Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the Goldsmithing and Silversmithing graduate certificate. FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS Graduates of JMET may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Davenport University (US), Griffith University (Australia) and University of New Brunswick Saint John (NB). GeorgianCollege.ca/JMET JEWELLERY AND METALS JMET This program gives students a comprehensive education in the design theory as well as the technical and esthetic skills required by the jewellery and metals industry for entry-level positions. The emphasis in first and second semesters is on basic information and techniques related to jewellery. Advanced jewellery techniques, hollowware and flatware will be learned in third and fourth semesters.
