GeorgianCollege.ca/DPAI DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING DPAI This program provides students with both the technical and visual communication skills required for a variety of careers related to photography and imaging. The three main areas of focus are digital capture, imaging technologies and entrepreneurial skills. Students use industry-standard hardware and software to capture and manipulate images in a way that demonstrates their skill and creativity. Students learn how to integrate digital imaging techniques with the fundamentals of photography in order to create images that communicate effectively and meet the needs of clients. It also provides the opportunity for students to assess which areas of visual arts are most appropriate to their individual abilities. Effective research, problem solving and conceptualization skills are developed to nurture talents and prepare students for future studies in art and design. The range of courses provides an opportunity to learn new skills and refine existing skills. The portfolio developed in this program is valuable when applying to specialized art or design programs.
