GRADUATE CERTIFICATES HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates may find employment with: • design firms offering kitchen and bath consultancy services • kitchen and bath specifiers and/or fabricators • building contractors and developers • retailers Graduates with entrepreneurial skills may become freelance kitchen and bath designers GeorgianCollege.ca/KBDE KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGN KBDE Kitchen and bath design is a specialized service within the residential interior decorating and design professions. Graduates of this program will build on previous design education and experience to acquire industry-standard skills and expertise applicable to the kitchen and bath industry. Students assess client needs and focus on functional design solutions and esthetic, durability and environmental considerations. This program covers technical documentation, specification conventions, fabrication methods, infrastructure issues and relevant business practices. ONTARIO COLLEGE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE 1 year (2 semesters) STARTS SEPTEMBER: Barrie Approximate annual fees: $5,557.12 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Postsecondary diploma or degree with a focus on interior design, interior decorating or architecture • Applicants who do not have the required specialty may be considered upon submission of a portfolio showing evidence of creative ability, manual drafting and computer aided drafting skills, and industry experience PLACEMENTS 1 field placement GeorgianCollege.ca/MEMG CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates of this program may find rewarding careers as ships' engineering officers managing commercial vessel operations throughout Canada and the world. This program may lead to career advancement to senior ranks on board ships and to positions of leadership in the marine industry. PLEASE NOTE This program delivers the academic portion of the TCMSS Engineering Officer Education Training (EOET) Program for senior engineering officers. MARINE ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT MEMG Students are presented with material designed in co-operation with Transport Canada Marine Safety and Security (TCMSS) and Canada's shipping companies. Content material includes the academic portion of the TCMSS Engineering Officer Education Training (EOET) program for senior engineering officers. Students develop the knowledge, skills and professionalism expected to function as part of an engineering team at the management level. NOTE: This is a Transport Canada-designated program. ONTARIO COLLEGE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE 1 year (2 semesters) STARTS JANUARY: Owen Sound Approximate annual fees: $4,973.30 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Applicants must meet one of the following requirements to be eligible for admission to this program: • graduate of a Marine Engineering Cadet Training Program in Canada (Georgian METC graduates meet this requirement) • Certificate of Competency as a Marine Engineer issued under the STCW Convention • equivalent level of knowledge demonstrated through an interview and portfolio of experience 128 GeorgianCollege.ca
