HEALTH, WELLNESS AND SCIENCES HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES The graduate of this program is qualified to assume a position as a dental assistant in a: • dental practice • dental hygiene practice • community oral health clinic • public health unit PLEASE NOTE Additional requirements include: • Standard First Aid certificate • CPR certificate • physical ability and visual acuity • Police Vulnerable Sector Check GeorgianCollege.ca/DNAS DENTAL ASSISTING (LEVELS I AND II) DNAS Students are prepared to become dental assistants, capable of working interdependently and collaboratively with health professionals in a variety of practice settings. Corresponding with the level of study and in accordance with current legislation, graduates perform a variety of roles consistent with national standards including clinical, education, health promotion, business administration and laboratory assistant. Graduates will be eligible to write the National Dental Assistants Board Exam (NDAEB) and are eligible for certification by the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA). To be certified by the Canadian Dental Assistants Association (CDAA), the graduate must have successfully completed the NDAEB. This allows the graduate to practise as a Level II Dental Assistant.
