GRADUATE CERTIFICATES HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES The Interior Design Bridge program offers a pathway for graduates to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Arts – Interior Design, which will provide currency in professional credentials and may facilitate further opportunities for advanced studies at the graduate level. GeorgianCollege.ca/IBRG INTERIOR DESIGN DEGREE BRIDGE CO-OP IBRG This program consists of one academic semester, focusing on advanced interior design theory and research skills development, as well as a co-op term. The bridge is designed for graduates of a qualifying three-year Interior Design diploma program. Georgian College's Interior Design program has an established reputation for excellence. The collaborative learning environment at Georgian provides innovative and professional hands-on learning opportunities that respond to increasing academic and industry standards. Successful completion of the bridge will make it possible for students to apply for entry to the fourth year of the ARIDO-recognized (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) Bachelor of Applied Arts – Interior Design Program at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. ONTARIO COLLEGE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE 1 year (1 semester) STARTS SEPTEMBER: Barrie Approximate fees for one semester: $2,616.18 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for admission: • completion of a qualifying interior design three-year advanced diploma with a GPA of 75% in the final year • submission of a portfolio indicating potential for integration into the fourth year of a bachelor's degree program • one Grade 11 or 12 mathematics (U or M) with a minimum 60% • one English, Grade 12 (ENG4U) with a minimum 65% PLACEMENTS 1 co-op work term CAREER OPPORTUNITIES The need for organizations to build and maintain secure network and information systems has created demand for skilled computer and network systems security specialists. Chief information officers and information technology managers, charged with the need to plan and implement security controls and infrastructure to protect corporate information systems, will increasingly require the skills of security specialists. Building on previous educational experience, they learn to create cost effective and secure computing environments. Graduates are able to categorize, design, implement and integrate technical and managerial safeguards to ensure the security of networked computer systems. An emphasis will be placed on interpersonal, organizational, technical, communication and problem-solving skills applied to enhance the effective implementation of security in a business environment.
