LIBERAL ARTS HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Most students choose General Arts and Science as a pathway to further studies. Some graduates of the program find employment in occupations requiring a general education or with firms that prefer to administer their own training programs. This diploma is recognized by several Ontario universities. Effort is made to provide courses that give students optimum transfer credits to other college and university programs. FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS Graduates of GAAS may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Acadia University (NS), Bishop's University (QC), Central Michigan University (US), Davenport University (US), Griffith University (Australia), Lakehead University (ON), University of Guelph-Humber (ON), University of New Brunswick Saint John (NB), University of Ontario Institute of Technology (ON) and York University (ON). GeorgianCollege.ca/GAAS GENERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE GAAS This program offers students a curriculum that emphasizes the humanities and social sciences. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies in higher education at either the college or university level. Students are encouraged to meet with the program co-ordinator regarding course selection and optional credits, depending on individual goals. GeorgianCollege.ca/GASC GENERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE – ONE YEAR GASC Students are offered an introduction to college studies, with emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills developed while studying courses in the social sciences and humanities. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies at either the college or university level. Students may also choose to continue from the one-year certificate to the two-year diploma in General Arts and Science.
