FIRST YEAR FEES: $15,636.26 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) with recommended 75% minimum • Grade 12 Chemistry (C) or Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry (U) with recommended 75% minimum • Grade 11 or 12 Biology (C or U) with recommended 75% minimum This program prepares students to become dental hygienists capable of providing preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services utilizing the dental hygiene process. In all roles and practice settings, the dental hygienist works with the client and community using a problem- solving framework; basing all decisions, judgments and interventions on current dental hygiene research and theory. The program will prepare the graduate for the legal and ethical responsibilities of a dental hygienist and with a basic understanding of business practices related to self-employment. Career opportunities As a dental hygienist, the graduate may work independently, interdependently and collaboratively with health professionals in a variety of practice settings, including: • private dental practices • community clinics • public health programs • institutions • long-term care facilities • self-employment Future study options: Graduates of DNTH may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Brock University (ON), Davenport University (US), Griffith University (Australia), Laurentian University (ON), Laurier Brantford (ON), Thompson RIvers University (BC), University of New Brunswick Saint John (NB), and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (ON). FIRST YEAR FEES: $11,162.30 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) • Grade 11 Biology (C or U), or Grade 12 Biology (U) This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the entry- level standards of practice set by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). It provides in-depth theoretical and clinical components of acupuncture. Students benefit from expert clinical training that combines integrative health care models with traditional Chinese medicine, providing graduates with the necessary skills to practice as a regulated health care professional. Career opportunities Graduates of the Acupuncture program may be employed in: • fertility clinics • doctors' offices • physiotherapy clinics • naturopathic clinics • massage therapy clinics • chiropractic offices • self-employment Some specialize and become involved in one specific area of healthcare such as: • pain management • dermatology • gynecology ACUPUNCTURE ACPT
