FIRST YEAR FEES: $4,383.06 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) This program prepares graduates for careers as web designers and developers. Students are instructed in the use of current web and internet technologies to create innovative, interactive products for a variety of users, platforms, and devices. They are taught to plan, design, and develop engaging and intuitive user interfaces. Courses cover the use of current technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the Document Object Model (DOM), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and a variety of popular scripting frameworks. With a focus on user-centred design, students will apply human interface guidelines, standard- based structures, and web design and development principles to create accessible, usable, and captivating user experiences. Career opportunities Graduates may find employment as designers and/or developers of interactive interfaces for a wide variety of organizations – as internal specialists or external contractors. Job titles might include: • web designer • user experience designer • interactive designer • user interface designer Future study options: Graduates of IMDW may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Davenport University (US), University of New Brunswick Saint John (NB), and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (ON). INTERACTIVE MEDIA DESIGN – WEB IMDW Faced with a late bus, Computer Programmer student Zifeng Xu decided to create a Barrie Transit mobile app that checks bus routes, stops and arrival times.
