FIRST YEAR FEES: $3,923.06 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) This program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to provide support services to people living at home, in long-term care or in acute care facilities – and to function as integral members of the health care team. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates have demonstrated the ability to effectively communicate with clients, families and members of the health care team. They will also have demonstrated their ability to provide safe and competent care for individual clients who are experiencing physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural challenges. Career opportunities Graduates find employment in: • retirement homes • long-term care facilities • homes for the aged • community agencies (private and public) • acute care facilities • independent practice Future study options: Graduates of PSWR may be granted credit toward degree studies via an articulation agreement with Thompson Rivers University (BC). FIRST YEAR FEES: $9,322.70 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) • Grade 11 Chemistry (U) or Grade 12 Chemistry (C or U) • Grade 11 or 12 Biology (C or U) This program prepares students to become dental assistants, capable of working interdependently and collaboratively with health professionals in a variety of practice settings. Graduates are eligible to write the National Dental Assistants Board Exam (NDAEB). They can also be certified by the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA). To be certified by the Canadian Dental Assistants Association (CDAA), graduates must successfully complete the NDAEB. This allows graduates to practice as a Level II dental assistant.
