FIRST YEAR FEES BUSG: $4,283.06 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) • Grade 11* or 12 Mathematics (C, M, or U), *minimum of 60% required in Grade 11 Mathematics For students interested in managing people or processes, Georgian's two-year Business and Business (Co-op) programs provide a solid foundation in the basics of business. Studies in economics, accounting, marketing, and human resources lay the foundation for a good start. Individual courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to get to work. These programs can launch a career or can be a springboard into further studies. Career opportunities • management trainee/ manager • sales/sales management • personnel officer/manager • entrepreneurial opportunities Employers include: • banks and finance • trust and insurance • computer firms • government • producers of consumer and industrial products • wholesalers • retailers • private companies • non-profit organizations Future study options: Graduates of BUSN or BUSG may be granted credit toward degree studies at the following institutions via articulation and transfer agreements: Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), Davenport University (US), Griffith University (Australia), and University of New Brunswick Saint John (NB). Graduates of BUSG may have additional opportunities at: Athabasca University (AB), Institutes of Technology Ireland (UK), Laurier Brantford (ON), Robert Gordon University (UK), Royal Roads University (BC) and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (ON). Graduates will be able to perform advertising/communications functions using a variety of media techniques. Career opportunities Graduates may find employment creating and placing advertising in marketing departments of organizations in: • retail • distribution • public relations • computers • manufacturing They may sell advertising space or time on behalf of a print or electronic medium. They may enter the advertising agency field in a creative, research, production or client services role.
