Georgian supports three entrepreneurship centres. We embed entrepreneurship principles into all full-time programs and offer a diploma in Business Entrepreneurship. The college also creates many opportunities for people to develop entrepreneurship skills – from building changemaker spaces to holding pitch competitions. Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre New and seasoned entrepreneurs access training, networks, funding, and mentors to help establish or grow their businesses. GeorgianCollege.ca/HBEC Centre for Social Entrepreneurship Students and community partners work hand-in-hand to effect social change in our community through innovative projects and research. GeorgianCollege.ca/CSE Centre for Applied Research and Innovation Georgian students and faculty help businesses solve technical challenges. Projects range from creating prototypes through 3D printing and improving existing products, to developing e-business solutions. GeorgianCollege.ca/CARI GEORGIAN COLLEGE 9 LEADING SOCIAL CHANGE Through the Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Social Service Worker students helped the Orillia/Barrie chapter of Dress for Success grow. They engaged new audiences through newsletters and social media, and ran a successful clothing drive. DEVELOPING RESOURCES FOR ENTREPRENEURS Georgian creates spaces and tools to help entrepreneurs succeed. One example is Barrie Entrepreneurs Connect – a portal developed in partnership with the City of Barrie providing information and contacts for local small business owners. barrie.entrepreneursconnect.ca GEORGIAN COLLEGE 9 2016 | 2017 FULL-TIME PROGRAM GUIDE
