Content will include anatomy and psychology of the cardiovascular system; associated disease processes; basic cardiac dysrhythmias; risk factors; and aspects of teaching clients. HSCI 0119 | 42 HRS $328.86 Standard First Aid/CPR Level HCP This is an in-depth first aid course covering all of the basic first aid components. It includes two-person CPR training. HSCI 0019 | 8 HRS $114.36 Standard First Aid/Level C CPR This comprehensive course offers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Exceeds competitors' standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED. Student will receive Red Cross's Standard First Aid Certificate with Level C-CPR. HSCI 0005 | 16 HRS $135.28 Telemedicine 101 This course aims to provide professional development for clinicians to increase the adoption of clinical telemedicine. Topics include operation of equipment, telepresence, creating content, and troubleshooting. NOTE: This course is delivered through an individual's Ontario Telemedicine Network location. Learn a little history discuss the various types of tea and sample several different teas. Bring your favourite tea cup for tasting the different teas provided. HOSP 0121 | 2 HRS $30 Bartending (Introduction) Learn drink mixing skills and recipes, characteristics of liquors and beers, and the selection of wines. SmartServe training is included; however, test fee is extra. Following Ontario legislation, students age 18 years of age may take this course, but must be 19 or older to consume alcohol. NOTE: Photo identification is checked during first class. Our chef takes you through demonstration of baking a number of desserts each week and then guides you as you bake your own creations. You gain a basic knowledge of baking from within a professionally equipped facility. Discover how to create pie dough, muffins, cakes and a variety of other desserts. HOSP 0120 | 24 HRS $349 Introduction to Tea – 1 In this foundational course, students learn the botany of the tea plant, define the species and identify sub species useful for production of tea. A general outline of the important steps in the manufacture/processing of tea is covered, together with an introduction to grading and regulations impacting the tea market. Sensory evaluation concepts and the methodology for the application of those concepts to tea are introduced. After studying the general characteristics and styles of tea from various regions students will taste samples of tea in each style applying the sensory evaluation concepts. The course includes an introduction to the evaluative method of cupping tea. TEAS 0001 | 18 HRS $199 Pairing Food with Tea Join our tea sommelier to learn about pairing food with tea. HOSP 0124 | 2 HRS $30 Sausage-making Do you like sausage but are concerned with the ingredients of mass-production? Learn the sausage-making process using all natural ingredients while adhering to safe and sanitary preparation methods. HOSP 0093 | 4 HRS $90 SmartServe The SmartServe training gives liquor servers the information they need to understand and implement the skills of responsible service. Topics include recognizing signs of intoxication and the server's responsibilities and obligations under the law.
