GeorgianCollege.ca/parttimestudies GENERAL INFORMATION 105 INCOME TAX RECEIPTS Where the course is eligible for the tuition tax credit, and the tuition fees exceed $100 in the calendar year, students can print an official receipt for income tax purposes online through their Banner account. The listed fees paid for courses represent total fees and includes fees other than tuition. NOTE: Only the tuition amount is eligible for income tax purposes as per Revenue Canada guidelines. Additionally, the number of months for the education deduction portion of the T2202A only applies to credit activity. REFUNDS For up-to-date information on policies and procedures, please visit GeorgianCollege.ca/admissions/policies-procedures/. Courses with more than eight sessions: PARTIAL REFUND: Full refund less $20 (plus material fees, where applicable) if written request is received in the Office of the Registrar before the third regularly-scheduled session. NO REFUND: After third regularly scheduled session. Courses with four to eight sessions: PARTIAL REFUND: Full refund less $20 (plus material fees, where applicable) if written request is received in the Office of the Registrar before the second regularly-scheduled session. NO REFUND: After second regularly-scheduled session. Courses with fewer than four sessions: PARTIAL REFUND: Full fee less $20 is refundable (plus material fees, where applicable) if written request is received in the Office of the Registrar prior to the start of the course. NO REFUND: After the class begins. NOTE: The following courses have a special refund policy: Advanced Foot Care for RNs and RPNs, withdrawals must be made in writing five (5) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. Applied Project Management Online Certificate course withdrawals must be made in writing five (5) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. Motorcycle withdrawals must be made in writing five (5) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. Non-credit Welding withdrawals must be made in writing five (5) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. First Aid and CPR withdrawals must be made in writing seven (7) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. Reflexology withdrawals must be made in writing seven (7) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. TATA or one day courses withdrawals must be made in writing five (5) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. Yoga Teacher Training withdrawals must be made in writing seven (7) full working days before the course start date to receive a partial refund. Registrants who fail to attend scheduled activities are not entitled to refunds. Payments received by credit card will be refunded to the original credit card. All other refunds will be paid by cheque within 15 business days of the Office of the Registrar receiving your request to withdraw. STUDENTS IN DEFAULT If you have outstanding fees, fines, emergency loans, or fail to return books to the library, or equipment owned by Georgian College, a transcript of grades cannot be issued and you might be refused admission to subsequent semesters. If eligible, you will not be awarded your graduation credentials until the situation is resolved. NOTE: Where there are fees outstanding to the college from previous activities, any refund will be applied to these situations. FOOD SERVICES Food services managed by Chartwells are available at the Barrie, Orillia and Owen Sound campuses. To obtain a room location, please check one of the following one week prior to the start of the course: 1. Consult the Part-time Studies website at GeorgianCollege.ca/parttimestudies 2. Log on to Banner at GeorgianCollege.ca Orillia information boards: Information about class locations is posted on information boards in the main entrance and the lower level foyer. At other campuses: Room numbers for courses are posted inside the main entrances. PARKING FEES At the Barrie, Midland, Orillia, Owen Sound and South Georgian Bay campuses, parking fees are collected when visitors leave the campus. The fee is $6 before 7 p.m. and $3 after 7 p.m. It is necessary to have correct change ready. There are no change machines at the gates. If preferred, a parking pass may be purchased.
