Chris Jiang " I chose to study in Canada because the country has a strong reputation for multiculturalism and a highly developed education system. I also spoke with friends who had graduated from Georgian College and I had a good feeling about it. I love my study and work environment in Barrie, the amazing view, the healthy lifestyle, the nice way people treat each other and many multicultural events. The teachers are great; everyone here tries their best to show me how to study well, and the education system is awesome. Once I understood how to handle it, I felt no pressure at all. At the same time, many teachers and staff keep their eyes open and let me know about any opportunities for volunteering or part-time jobs. This has really made my life easier. I appreciate everything that I have experienced in Canada so far. But I am especially glad to have an on-campus job in The Last Class student lounge. After two rounds of group interviews, I was the only one from my country to be hired as part of this 50-person team. I am so proud! I enjoy the way we treat each other; it's like a family, I feel I'm not here working – I am here truly enjoying life! " Tsai-Tung Chen " I chose to study in Canada, coming from Taiwan, because I heard it was a beautiful country and it had a good atmosphere for learning English. When I searched for a college through the Internet, I saw that Georgian College has many interesting programs, especially my dream program – Interior Design. I like living in Barrie because people here are very friendly and they help each other when people need assistance. There are many activities in summer and when it snows, the scenery is so quiet and beautiful. Georgian has a Write On Centre that can help students enhance their writing skills. When I had some assignments that I needed advice about, I got all the help I needed. I aspire to have a creative career that is filled with many challenges. When people do love their work, they bring a lot of enthusiasm to their job and work to fulfill their potential. That's what I wish for. " Yang Yang " I chose Georgian because it has a large campus, great infrastructure and lab/computer equipment. Many programs have co-op work terms which is very essential for international students, as they are able to gain Canadian work experience. I am in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program; the courses are designed to accommodate current industry needs. The professors are very knowledgeable and have good industrial experience; with their help and guidance I was able to get a Georgian scholarship award. I enjoy the co-op semesters, it is a very unique and practical way of learning; the courses we study in classrooms are applied in real work situations in the industry. After graduation I would like to find a full-time engineering job in a multi-national manufacturing company which also has a base in China. " 9 GeorgianCollege.ca
