The Georgian College virtual world has been extended to the Community and Justice Services program with the construction of a prison for students to practise dealing with issues of rights and safety with virtual prisoners. In addition, Dr. Bloom is working with students in a fourth-year course of the Bachelor of Human Services degree where they are replicating a social movement demonstration from the perspective of law enforcement officers and protestors. The virtual campus was created by Georgian Computer Studies students, Professor Jaret Wright and Dr. Bloom as part of a systems project course. "This is a great example of the interdisciplinary approach Georgian takes to education," says Mary O'Farrell- Bowers, Dean of the Orillia Campus. INNOvATION AT gEORgIAN Georgian College and Lakehead University have agreed to work together to develop a new four-year Electrical Engineering degree that would be the first of its kind in Central Ontario.
