Bottled water is seen everywhere we go nowadays; the gym, the offi ce, big social gatherings. Now, Darryl Hindle's Quench Buggy has found a way to hydrate the masses without the high cost or all the mess. A Quench Buggy is a portable unit that hooks up to a municipally- approved source of water, whether it be a fi re hydrant, garden hose connection or other source. Each buggy is equipped with a cooling fi ltration system and the units are cleaned before, during and after each event. "I was working for a portable toilet company and a lady asked if I knew where she could fi ll up her bottle with water. I didn't know but as she left we both agreed that water should be just as obtainable as a washroom. My creative mind went into overdrive and Quench Buggy was born," says Hindle. In the three years since it was launched, Quench Buggy has served concerts, university orientations, charity races and even a local emergency. "My hometown of Meaford had a major water main break this past year and we were without any usable water," Hindle said. "The town contacted me and used one of my units." The thing Hindle is most proud of is the education his staff provides. "There is nothing wrong with tap water, even without our on-site fi ltration system. Our staff will answer any questions you have about that."
