Environmental citizenship is a personal commitment to learning more about the environment and to taking responsible environmental action. This course is a journey into adopting attitudes and behaviours that foster global environmental responsibility. OL Hockey Hall of Fame This subject details the incredible growth of Canada's national pastime, including the NHL's formation, the "original six" and national/international expansion. Human Behaviour in the Workplace Understanding human relations is essential for career and personal success. This course draws on sociological, psychological, ethical, and legal perspectives to enhance understanding of effective interactions in today's workplace. The course includes an experiential component where students learn and practise effective teamwork skills. This course introduces students to the concept of wellness and provides practical strategies for developing a healthy lifestyle. MAY 4 – AUG. 14 ONLINE OL Meteorology This is an introductory course in meteorology that seeks to, logically and methodically, develop the student's understanding of weather and weather-related phenomena. Students taking this course will develop a good working knowledge of all aspects of meteorology and will be much better informed as to the nature and causes of weather-related events. GNED 1059 | 42 hrs $397.50 date loc JAN. 13 – APR. 21 ONLINE MAY 12 – AUG. 18 ONLINE OL Minerals Mineralogy is the study of the crystals that comprise rocks. This course studies minerals. It is a course that allows the student to become very knowledgeable about minerals and to enjoy their beauty. The course begins by explaining what minerals are, their composition and their classification. The concept of mineral formation is followed by the use of descriptive and identifying properties. The student is introduced to the use of a 'key'. After having learned how to identify important minerals, the student will be introduced to some of the fascinating minerals on earth: gemstones, ore minerals and essential minerals.
