I worked in retail, as a butcher, and in factories, but wanted to be a nurse. I started the Practical Nursing program in May 2012 – best decision I ever made! I was a high school dropout, but went back to school in the early 1990s to obtain my diploma, then did academic upgrading to attend the Nursing program. I'm working as a nurse's aide in a long-term care facility while I take the program. As the only male in class, I've learned a lot from the female perspective on health care. The instructors have been inviting and welcoming, making a huge impact on my life. Muskoka has become part of me and will always be the home of my educational and professional growth.
