Our program is anchored philosophically in person directed planning, and in promoting the development of natural supports and opportunities for inclusion. Our program includes core/mandatory curriculum areas, general education, communication courses, and field placements. See the Development Services Worker Apprenticeship on page 24 DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES WORKER DSWR (ONTARIO COLLEGE DIPLOMA) graduation Requirements 18 Mandatory Courses 2 Communications Courses 3 General Education Courses 3 Field Placements admission Requirements For admission requirements please refer to the official program outline on the college website GeorgianCollege.ca. graduation eligibility To graduate from this program, the passing weighted average for promotion through each semester, from year to year and to graduate is 60%. Additionally, a student must attain a minimum of 50% or a letter grade of P (Pass) or S (Satisfactory) in each course in each semester. important note Part-time students with previous credits from prior to September 2013, please contact the Co-ordinator Deb Morrow at 705.325.2740, ext. 3073 or email debra.morrow@georgiancollege.ca with any equivalency questions. field Placements Students who have completed the prerequisites may participate in field placements either full-time (five days per week, four consecutive weeks) or part-time (two and a half days per week, eight consecutive weeks). Prerequisites: In addition to specific courses, students must have: Vulnerable sector police check; up-to-date immunization record; valid standard first aid and Level HCP or Level C CPR certificate. All placement types are available in DSW. Field placement tuition fees will vary and placements are assigned on a first- come, first-served basis. Inform the Field Placement Officer at your campus in advance. Payment for the course is due with registration. For placements you must confirm with Linda before the date noted above..
