The Centre for Marine Training and Research is now accepting applications from interested parties for the new MED Centre.
MED SPECIFIC INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold at least one of the following certificates or higher:
• Chief Mate, Near Coastal
• Master 500 Gross Tonnage, Near Coastal
• Fishing Master, limited waters
• Second Class Engineer, motor ship or steamship
Hold a valid training certificate issued within the previous five years in the following courses:
• MED with respect to STCW Basic Safety (MED STCW BS) or refresher training in MED with respect to STCW Basic
Safety (REF-MED STCW BS), and
• MED with respect to Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (MED PSC) or
Refresher training in MED with respect to Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats
(REF-MED PSC), and
• MED with respect to Advanced Fire Fighting (MED AFF) or Refresher training in MED with respect to Advanced Fire
Fighting (REF-MED AFF)
