The program
This program was developed in partnership with the Anishnabe Education and Training
Circle and is intended to enhance the Aboriginal student's sense of cultural identity;
develop a solid academic base; assess education/career options; and develop self-
management skills. Cultural teachings and smudging are integrated daily throughout each
academic semester in social activities, individual program courses and traditional teacher/
elder visits. (Please note: Aboriginal includes First Nations, Métis and Inuit people.)
Graduate career opportunities
• Further studies at the college level
• Occupations requiring a general education
• Employers who wish to administer their own training program
Admission requirements
OSSD or equivalent
• Grade 12 English ( C or U ) is strongly recommended and will be used in selection.
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older) and home school
applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants
who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED and equivalency

Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited postsecondary
institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for

Graduation requirements
Students are required to complete 2 communications courses • 8 mandatory courses •
2 general education courses
