The program This program provides a broad education that will help you understand human behaviour from multiple perspectives. The program serves as a foundation to prepare you to enter specific people-helping career programs and human service fields. It introduces academic coursework relevant to human services, develops interpersonal relationship skills, explores basic helping skills and assists you in finding your personal identity as it relates to becoming a skilled professional helper. Human Service Foundation offers a unique interactive lab component for teaching and learning that incorporates the use of advanced computer gaming technology and state-of-the-art interactive lab classrooms so you can learn and practise in both "real" and "virtual" worlds of human services in safe and supportive environments. Graduate career opportunities Graduates will improve their ability to compete in the Human Service workplace occupations requiring a general human service education or with firms that prefer to administer their own training programs. Admission requirements OSSD or equivalent with • Grade 12 English (C or U) Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older) and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED and equivalency testing.
